Vitaminity Carb-Blocker Complex is a multi-component food supplement which, thanks to its natural and synergistic active ingredients, promotes the control of the postprandial glycemic peak, reducing the absorption of carbohydrates introduced during the meal. By doing so, the feeling of hunger and postprandial sleepiness are also significantly reduced.

The effectiveness of this supplement is to be found in its formulation rich in active ingredients that have scientifically demonstrated their lipid-lowering properties.
In fact, bean extract is known precisely for its ability to reduce post-prandial blood sugar. Berberis, Gymnema sylvestre and Chromium, on the other hand, are natural active ingredients often used in the treatment of diabetes, as they promote the correct level of blood sugar. To complete the composition of Vitaminity Carb Blocker, olive extract, black pepper and ginger have been added.

Glycemia, the levels of glucose in the blood, is a factor closely related to meals and their composition. In fact, the glycemic peak is maximum after a meal mainly based on carbohydrates, while it remains at low levels when the fat percentage is predominant.

Excessive consumption of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index results in an excessive release of insulin that trig a blood sugar decrease to below normal levels. This phenomenon is called "postprandial reactive hypoglycemia" and triggers the increase in glucagon secretion, thus stimulating the sense of hunger to restore the correct glycemic indexes. In other words, this is why a couple of hours after consuming a meal rich in carbohydrates, you feel a slight drowsiness and the desire to eat again.

By taking Vitaminity Carb-Blocker Complex, the control of glucose levels in the blood is favored and, by avoiding glycemic peaks, the accumulation of fat and the early onset of hunger is also automatically reduced. White bean
Dry extract 8000 UIAA

Brought to Europe after the discovery of America, the white bean, or Phaseolus vulgaris L., is a well-known and appreciated legume in our tradition. Its pod has been attributed with important inhibitory properties towards the absorption of carbohydrates.
Several studies, in fact, have highlighted how the white bean is able to reduce post-prandial glycaemia, thus favoring the control of glucose levels in the blood. These properties are due to the composition of this legume rich in tannins, procyanidins and phaseolamine. The latter, in particular, is able to inhibit the alpha-amylase enzyme, which is responsible for the digestion of starches. Reducing the assimilation of starches does not only mean contributing to weight loss, but also reducing and avoiding hyperglycemia, liver fatigue and stomachl heaviness.

Moreover, thanks to the presence of flavonoids, the white bean is also characterized by its draining and diuretic properties. It is therefore indicated to improve urinary flow and promote both male and female urinary well-being.

Olive tree
Dry extract leaves 40% oleuropein

Used since ancient times in the culinary field, the olive tree, or Olea europaea L., has also revealed incredible properties in the nutraceutical and phytotherapeutic sector. In particular, the phyto-compound present in leaves and unripe olives, the oleuropein, has been subject of many studies. Oleuropein has been shown to be beneficial for various diseases, such as metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, neuro-degenerative diseases and fatty liver disease (NASH).

Specifically, oleuropein acts on the metabolic syndrome by inhibiting the deposition of amyloid in pancreatic β cells, thus slowing down the evolution of the pre-diabetic state. Furthermore, it protects these cells from the effects of cytotoxic cytokines and oxidative stress. This olive compound also inhibits the alpha-amylase enzyme and stimulates the intestinal absorption of sugars.

Berberis
Dry extract 98% berberine

Berberine is a vegetable alkaloid that is extracted from the roots, bark and rhizomes of plants belonging to the Berberidaceae family, specifically from Berberis aristata. This plant is attributed with antioxidant, lipid-lowering, antihypertensive and vasoprotective properties. It is, in fact, known for reducing cardiovascular risks on several fronts: decreasing the levels of negative cholesterol (HDL) and promoting the right level of glucose present in the blood.

As for cholesterol, the mechanism of action through which berberine acts concerns the receptor for LDL, of which it increases its expression, by means of a post-receptor mechanism for stabilizing the mRNA. The increased expression of LDL receptors actually increases the capture of circulating LDL, which thus can be removed from the circulation. On the other hand, for those suffering from type II diabetes, berberine is useful as it reduces blood glucose levels, thus controlling the post-prandial glycemic peak and reducing the absorption of carbohydrates.

Gymnema sylvestre
25% Gymnemic acid

Originally from India and Central Africa, Gymnema sylvestre is also called "Gur-Mar", which literally means "sugar destroyer". This plant, in fact, has been known since ancient times for being a powerful natural remedy against diabetes mellitus. In particular, the leaves and extracts of this plant are associated with hypoglycemic properties capable of lowering blood sugar levels. Gymnema acts through two different mechanisms of action: on one hand, it acts in the intestine by blocking glucose receptors; on the other hand, it increases the action of the β cells of the islets of Langherans by stimulating the production of insulin and normalizing blood sugar levels.

Thanks to its therapeutic properties, its use today is very popular in the formulation of supplements for weight loss, for controlling body weight and for reducing the absorption of carbohydrates.

Ginger
Dry extract 5% gingerols

Known for its oriental origins, ginger (or Zingiber officinale) is a herbaceous plant appreciated both for giving flavor to recipes and for its digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. In the phytotherapeutic field, in fact, ginger is used to facilitate the digestive process, stimulating intestinal peristalsis and restoring the balance of the intestinal flora. By improving the digestion of carbohydrates and proteins, it also reduces the sense of hunger.

Thanks to its main constituent, gingerol, ginger is an excellent ally for losing weight and maintaining the ideal body weight. This chemical compound, in fact, promotes the raising of body temperature by immediately stimulating the acceleration of metabolism.

Black pepper

Belonging to the Piperaceae family native to India, black pepper is a spice with proven stimulating and digestive properties. Piperine, the alkaloid contained in black pepper, is able to stimulate the digestion process and promote the absorption rate of ingested nutrients. Another benefit associated with black pepper is thermogenesis, or the ability to stimulate the body's temperature to the point of accelerating metabolism. For this reason, it is recommended in slimming diets and in case of obesity.

Chromium picolinate

Present in small quantities in our body, chromium is a very common micronutrient in the treatment of diabetes, as it increases sensitivity to insulin and it controls glycemic levels in the blood. Further to improving glucose levels during fasting, chromium also appears to decrease the concentration of bad cholesterol in the blood. Furthermore, it could also prove useful for those who practice sports regularly, as it would improve body composition, favoring muscle growth at the expense of fat mass.

How To Use

Oleuropein and fatty liver disease (NASH)

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, also called NASH, is a liver disorder characterized by processes of inflammation, scarring and tissue death. It is a disease related to the excessive presence of fat in the liver and not to the consumption of alcohol. Oleuropein, the phyto-compound of the olive tree, has been shown to reduce the negative effects of NASH, as it has an antioxidant action in the hepatocyte.
