Active Ingredients

PEA - Palmitoiletanolamide

PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide) is a fat produced by our body capable of interacting with endocannabinoid receptors, which modulate an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action. Its mechanism of action was discovered by the Nobel laureate Rita Levi Montalcini. In nature, it is present in soy lecithin, milk, egg yolk and peanuts.

Specifically, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of PEA occurs thanks to the modulation of the release of TNF alpha, IL 6-8 and other inflammatory cytokines from mast cells, present in the lung, intestine and dermis. Several clinical studies confirm its usefulness in inflammatory states of the respiratory tract, joints and peripheral neuropathies.

Furthermore, PEA is considered a nuclear activator of the PPAR-alpha receptor (Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor), which is a potent regulator of fat metabolism in the liver. PPAR-alpha is activated in conditions of lack of energy supplies, such as fasting and during ketosis. The activation of PPAR-alpha induces the catabolism of fats and promotes mitochondrial oxidation.

The effective dosage is 300 mg twice a day. After administration, plasma levels of PEA remain elevated for over 4 hours.

PEA has no side effects of any kind up to a dosage of 1200 mg per day.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant coenzyme that participates in important cellular energy production reactions. In particular, it is involved in the transformation of sugars into fats, producing energy. It also has strong antioxidant power, thanks to its ability to produce glutathione. In addition, it has the ability to penetrate neurons, protecting them from degradation thanks to its lipophilic structure.

Lipoic acid is also recognized for its ability to optimize nerve communication, improving sensitization and, therefore, improving both the condition of pain and that of sensory numbness.

Alpha lipoic acid is therefore used following extensive scientific documentation in neuropathic pain, but also in cataracts, glaucoma, sclerosis and Alzheimer's. Its administration has proved effective in numerous pathologies as neuroprotective.

In addition, alpha-lipoic acid is used in the prophylaxis and treatment of diabetes. This is because it is able to prevent the destruction of the beta cells of the pancreas secreting insulin, to reduce resistance to insulin and the glycation of proteins (reaction between a protein and a sugar that affects the proper functioning of the biomolecule).

In the case of diabetic neuropathy, experimental studies with first intravenous and subsequently oral administration of ac. alpha-lipoic acid showed significant improvements in pain, somnolence, paraesthesia and peripheral nerve conduction.

It also has a protective action on the brain against oxidative damage and memory loss.

Due to its ability to restore the glutathione reserve with an antioxidant effect, alpha-lipoic acid can also be used in ocular protection in case of glaucoma, macular degeneration and prevention of senile cataracts.

In the case of compression neuropathies, such as lumbosciatalgia, alpha-lipoic acid has been found to be useful in improving symptoms, as well as in carpal tunnel syndrome.

A synergistic effect precisely in the case of neuropathies, ie those diseases that affect peripheral nervous tissue damaged by infiltration, compression or metabolic damage, occurs with the association of alpha-lipoic acid with palmitoylethanolamide (PEA).

Belonging to the Pedaliaceae family, devil's claw is a perennial herbaceous plant native to southern and eastern Africa. Its dried roots are used for the preparation of herbal and phytotherapeutic products. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, it is used to treat rheumatic pains.

The analgesic and anti-inflammatory efficacy is given by the presence of glycosides, the most important of which are harpagosides, contained in the root of the plant.

The devil's claw has proved particularly active especially in situations that cause pain and inflammation without severe joint compromise such as tendonitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, headache from arthrosis, cervical, general neck pain, bruises, sciatica, arthritis, arthrosis.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, just like vitamin B3, was discovered to be a factor capable of fighting pellagra. It exists in three distinct forms (Pyridoxine, Pyridoxal, Pyridoxamine) and the active form is pyridoxal-phosphate into which all forms are transformed by the pyridoxal-kinase enzyme, present in all tissues. It is precisely pyridoxal-phosphate and the analogous coenzyme pyridoxamine phosphate that are active in the metabolism of fats and proteins with transamination processes.

At the level of the central nervous system, vitamin B6 is essential for the production of serotonin, dopamine, histamine, taurine, gamma aminobutyric acid. In addition, it takes part in the synthesis of hemoglobin and represents a steroid modulator that promotes the synthesis of growth hormone (GH). It is also important for glycogen production.

Finally, vitamin B6 plays an active role in the normal development of the brain, to stimulate its functions and to keep the entire nervous system and the immune system healthy.

How To Use

It is recommended to take 2 capsules a day, with plenty of water. It can be taken at any time of the day and indifferently during or between meals.
